I was born to cheer and dance. I was raised to bloom.
I was taught to click a button. I was shown how to dance a brush on a canvas.
I was educated on how I must observe others. I close my eyes for a moment, then I open them to this world. I realized the child in me survived. I can still do whatever I want, now I just have to work really hard at them. Photography, painting and theatre is what my life has been about. Poetry is who I am. My parents always told me to do what I loved, that's why they came to this country. I'm the daughter of two hard working immigrants. I'm the sister of three creative seeds, and I'm the author for children's ears. I am the photograph that is developing. I feel electric when I touch my saxophone. I want to inspire, change and drive others to do the same. There isn't a day that goes by where I do not think of the difference I want to make. Going to school for film and theatre made me realize that as a Hispanic woman, people believe my chances are slim to none, but for me, I have a world of opportunities. I grow sleepless, I grow tired, I grow anxious, but at the end of it all,
I STILL GROW.
